Education

At the Timberlea Veterinary Clinic, we believe that a well-trained dog is going to enrich your interaction with you canine companion. Behavior problems are the top reason for animal relinquishment, and many of these problems can be prevented by a solution based, fun educational class. We have puppy classes especially designed for first time dog owners, run by our graduate Animal Health technicians with a wealth of experience.

Puppy Kindergarten

Did you realize that many animals are abandoned simply because people have not put the time into proper socialization and behavior? Take a 4 week class to give your animal the right start. Our experienced technicians have been teaching/raising and training pets for over 20 years.

Instructors are Tina Andreatos and Amanda Schoelfield, both certified Animal Health Technicians from Vanier College.

Pet CPR Courses & Educational Seminars

How would you like to know about first aid for your pet? Are you interested in learning how to stretch and exercise your pet to prevent injury? These and many more hand-on seminars will be presented in our training room. Please call to leave your name and once we have enough interest, we will contact you for one of these.

Dr. Glew has been teaching first aid to Revenue Canada's Canine unit for 15 years, as well as Animal health Technologists at Vanier College. Having worked in emergency medicine, and having been on -call for over 20 years, she will fill you in on the most commonly seen emergencies in practice, how to prevent them, and what to do if they should happen. A minimum of 6 students is required for a class to be held.

PET CPR classes are provided by Marie-Michele Duval and Leah Wilson, two certified Animal Health Technicians. They offer theory but also a lot of hands on experience! You also leave with a personalised first aid kit.
