Behavioural Counselling

Helping pet owners deal with problematic behaviours in their pets.

Are you having trouble with your dog or cat's behaviour? Timberlea Veterinary Clinic offers animal behaviour consultation services to help you understand and modify your companion's undesirable behaviours.

Our experienced veterinarians and animal technicians are trained to identify the causes of behaviour problems and offer personalized solutions. They can help you:

  • Understand your pet's body language and signals
  • Identify triggers for problematic behaviours
  • Develop positive, reinforcement-based behaviour modification techniques
  • Manage anxiety, aggression, or other behavioural issues
  • Establish a stronger and more harmonious relationship with your pet

Why consult an animal behaviour specialist?

Behaviour problems can be a source of stress and frustration for pet owners and can even endanger your pet or others. By consulting an animal behaviour specialist, you can get the help and advice you need to improve the quality of life for your pet and your family.

What types of behaviour problems can we treat?

We can help with a wide range of behaviour problems, including:

  • Excessive barking
  • Aggression towards humans or other animals
  • Destruction of objects
  • House soiling
  • Separation anxiety
  • Phobic behaviours

What happens during an animal behaviour consultation?

During the first consultation, your veterinarian or animal technician will discuss with you the behaviour problems you are experiencing with your pet. They will also observe the interaction between you and your pet and ask questions about their lifestyle and environment. Based on this assessment, they will offer you a personalized treatment plan that may include behaviour modification techniques, environmental changes, or medication therapy if necessary.
